mount shahalborz tour
Hasanjoon valley mount shahalborz
Hassanjoon valley (left) and ShahAlborz peak (right) in the spring

Being considered as the top of Taleqan (Taleghan) valley, Mt. ShahAlborz (4250m) is a distinguished mountain in west Alborz. Its name, which means King of Alborz, shows the respect of local people for this beautiful mountain. The normal route to the peak of ShahAlborz goes through Hasanjoon valley, a very beautiful trekking route that follows the river and its surrounding orchards. Standing on the top of ShahAlborz , one can see a panoramic view of west Alborz and Taleqan valley.

2 days & 1 night

Day 1: Early drive from Tehran to HassanJoon village in Taleqan valley, some 2 and a half hours drive from Tehran (160 km); Start trekking from the village to our camp site; overnight at camp
Day 2: Trek up to the summit (4200 m) with the panoramic view of west Alborz and Taleqan valley; come back to village and drive to Tehran

1 night in Tent

The harsh weather of wintertime and huge amount of snow in southern valleys of ShahAlborz make its winter ascent a big challenge, where the warm weather of summertime is not so pleasant out there. we recommend May to early June for Spring ascent and October and November for fall ascent.

ShahAlborz is accessible via a trekking route. We expect some 7 to 8 hours trek for each day
