South face of Mt Damavand

Known as the normal route, soute route is the most crowded one in mount Damavand. Base Camp of this face is accessible by some 3 hours drive from Tehran via Haraz road. So, you can get there in summer time, easier than any other face. There is two camp sites at 3000-m (Goosfand sara) and 4150-m (Bargah sevom), where mules and porters will carry all of your equipment up to 4150 m hut.
Though the sulfur gas coming out of the fumaroles will bother you in a long summit day in this face, but you will enjoy the least steep route up to the peak in south route.
