Some 120km north-east of the huge and crowded capital, we find Nandal village (2400m) in a remote high plateau with
a spectacular view of Mount Damavand. We stay at the village for a night and follow our way with rovers, to the end of
the high plateau at the altitude of 2900m, where we start our trek in northern slopes of Damavand. We have two shelters
at 4000m and 4700m on north ridge, which will be our camp sites in this route. So our acclimatization in this side is
step by step progress between our camps.
The north route goes over a ridge beside two glaciers of Dobisel and Sioleh, which will cause this route to be a little
colder than the south face.
Comparing south route, north side is steeper and less crowded. We highly recommend this route to those who like to
explore the unspoiled beauty of this high dormant volcano and enjoy the quietness during the ascent.
